The Barclays Premier League goal galore continued on Saturday with five afternoon kick-off games producing 22 goals.
Southampton alone claimed 36 per cent of it after an 8-0 humiliation of Sunderland at the St. Mary’s Stadium while Arsenal and Hull City shared a 4-goal thriller two-goal apiece.
Arsenal 2-2 Hull City
Danny Welbeck’s stoppage time equaliser helped Arsenal maintain their unbeaten record over Hull City and also kept them away from equaling their worst start to a league season under Arsene Wenger.
Alexis Sanchez opened scoring for the hosts in the 13th minute, when he lashed home a low shot across a dejected Steve Harper.
A controversial Mohammed Diame strike restored parity four minutes later. The midfielder seemed to drag Mathieu Flamini back to get to the ball, before clipping the ball over Woojciech Szczesny.
The Polish goalkeeper was beaten again a minute into the second period as Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore combined, with the latter delivering a cross into the area which striker Abel Hernandez guided into the net via a header.
Welbeck salvaged a point for the ‘Gunners’ in the first minute of injury time. The English striker shot Sanchez’s clever pass into the bottom right corner.
Arsenal, who before kick-off were buoyed by the return of Aaron Ramsey, suffered another injury blow in the end, with another midfielder Jack Wilshere suffering a knee problem.
Burnley 1-3 West Ham
Senegalese forward Diafra Sakho scored his sixth goal in six league starts for West Ham as Sam Allardyce’s side recorded their second best league win on the road at Burnley, who on their own are yet searching for a first win in eight matches.

Southampton 8-0 Sunderland
Southampton 8-0 Sunderland
Southampton trounced Sunderland at home but it was Santiago Vergini’s own goal that seems to stuck in the headlines for its bizarreness.
The Argentine defender, on loan from Estundiantes, volleyed into his own net from 18 yards to open scores. Graziano Pelle and Jack Cork each scored from six yards.
Pelle completed his brace after Liam Birdcut had scored another own goal, the Italian expertly burying the ball into the bottom corner of the net after a Dusan Tadic cut-back.
