HARLEQUINS IS PROUD TO CONFIRM TODAY THAT LOOSEHEAD PROP MARK LAMBERT HAS BEEN ELECTED AS THE VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE RUGBY PLAYERS’ ASSOCIATION (RPA).
Lambert who has been Harlequins’ RPA representative since 2013 has made over 160 appearances for the club winning Amlin Challenge Cup, Aviva Premiership and LV= Cup titles.
The 30 year-old replaces former Wasps centre, Chris Bell, following his retirement this summer.
Commenting on the announcement, Lambert said: “I am very honoured to have been elected by my peers as Vice-Chairman of the RPA. I look forward to continuing the good work of the board in recent times and playing my part in creating a strong player voice in the modern game, which is ever more necessary.”
Today’s news came following the announcement that Northampton Saint Christian Day has been re-elected as the RPA Chairman.
Confirming the appointments Damian Hopley, RPA Group CEO, commented: “Christian has been an outstanding ambassador for the game during his time as RPA Chairman and there is no greater testament to his work than being unanimously re-elected by your peers.
“Mark has been a very influential member of the RPA Players’ Board for a number of years and I have no doubt that, working alongside Christian, they will deliver significant progress for our members in key areas over the forthcoming season.”
